Your new role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic professional to oversee the effective delivery of the Facilities and Engineering portfolios on a temporary basis. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Facilities and Engineering plays a critical role in managing key operations and initiatives that align with the organisation’s strategic objectives. This includes leading priority projects such as implementing energy efficiency measures, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, and enhancing service delivery in areas like work health and safety, physical security, contract management, and process improvement. The role also involves close collaboration with stakeholders and project teams to deliver large-scale infrastructure projects and other essential functions.


In this leadership role, you will plan and manage the delivery of facilities, stores, and infrastructure project services, ensuring compliance with Work Health & Safety (WHS) and physical security requirements across sites in Victoria and New South Wales. You will take ownership of energy efficiency initiatives and oversee contractual and procurement arrangements in line with Commonwealth Procurement Rules. Your expertise will drive the successful execution of large infrastructure projects, including project management and reporting. Additionally, you will produce operational reports and briefing documents, mentor and develop a high-performing team, and contribute to broader organisational priorities. You will also support a multi-factored team of direct reports.

  • Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, providing a consistent 5-day workweek | 9am - 5pm

  • Compensation: $85 +Superannuation

  • Temporary 3-month assignment

  • You must be an Australian Citizen.


What you'll need to succeed

To be eligible for this role, you must have experience in facilities and contract management, delivering large infrastructure projects, and knowledge of WHS and physical security requirements; and a trade or engineering background in mechanical, electrical, or construction is desirable, and Facilities Management qualifications are highly valued. You should demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement, customer service, and the ability to drive continuous improvement, contributing to a high-performing culture. This role involves manual handling tasks, interstate travel, Australian Citizenship and obtaining a Baseline Security Clearance (this will be arranged at offer stage). You will also be willing to fullfil a temporary 3 month assignment.
