Your new role

Reporting to the Platform Engineering Lead, this role will perform professional work within the Electrical Engineering discipline to support the In Service program.

• Perform design tasks and analyses utilising specialised knowledge within the engineering discipline and collaborating with peers.
• Work under broad professional guidance, independently and as a team member to ensure that design products meet customer needs, comply with the technical requirements of the task and are performed within the allocated cost and schedule.
• Work towards the attainment of “Designer” Signatory status for assigned tasks.
• Work towards the attainment of Chartered status with Engineers Australia.
• Assess and evaluate technical risks in the Defence Technical Risk/Regulatory Management System
• Plan operations and or processes required to complete allocated design tasks, including estimation of material costs and quantities.

What you'll need to succeed

• Prior experience working in an Engineering discipline.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands

• Ability to successfully work with people at all levels of an organisation including as part of a team

• Experience in the use or management of CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) and 3D Modelling software packages
