Your new role

As a Fibre Design Engineer within the Network Integrity division, you will be responsible for delivering a complete Network Relocation Service. This includes the removal, relocation, redesign, and protection of fibre assets across varied network architectures. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Producing engineering standards and architecture documentation for the fibre network.

• Planning and designing fibre installations, ensuring adherence to relevant agreements and legislation.

• Providing engineering work orders, drawings, and plans to ensure successful deployment of fibre cables.

• Supporting other engineering and operational teams in deploying and interconnecting fibre cables.

• Validating the accuracy of as-built fibre records and providing direction for GIS application enhancements.

• Administering all fibre project activities, including financial monitoring, reporting, and requisition tracking.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g., IT/Telecommunication or Business).

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in fibre cable installations with a working knowledge of fibre optic deployment.

• ICT or Telecommunications delivery experience is highly desired.

• Intermediate to expert knowledge of telecommunication fibre networks.

• A solid understanding of OSP, ISP, aerial, and underground design principles.

• Strong analytical, design, and project management skills.

• Proficiency in using Mapinfo, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and other industry-related software.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience with stakeholder management and strong negotiation skills.
