Our client is seeking support from a Financial Transactions Lead, to join their busy finance team on a 9-month contract for an immediate start.

Your new role

  • Lead, guide, and manage staff, including recruitment, induction, engagement, work allocation, performance reviews, and development.
  • Supervise and prioritise the work of the transactional processing team.
  • Proactively monitor and resolve customer service issues as they arise.
  • Assist the Manager, Transaction Processing, with financial transaction activities for Faculties/Support Areas.
  • Extract data and provide financial reports and transaction details as needed.
  • Prepare regular general ledger income and expenditure reconciliations.
  • Handle all transactional activities, including maintaining acquittals, asset registers, purchasing consulting, processing invoices, generating purchase orders, resolving Finance One queries, invoicing debtors, and processing ledger journals.
  • Perform other related activities as required, consistent with the listed responsibilities.
  • Analyse and manage the University’s financial resources to support decision-making.
  • Maintain financial controls.
  • Provide key financial reporting.
  • Deliver a financial transaction processing service.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience working in a computerised financial system environment, including proficiency in Excel and data interrogation.
  • In-depth knowledge of transaction processing operations, processes, and systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables within a dynamic and flexible team structure, with strong scheduling and prioritising skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to foster a customer-focused and efficient team culture.
  • Ability to interact with others sensitively and constructively, while developing and maintaining effective professional relationships across various areas and organisational levels.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to consult and liaise effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
