Forklift Operator at Fire Department

As a Forklift Operator, you will play a vital role in supporting the logistics and operations that enable the fire department to respond effectively to emergencies.


Employment Type: Full-time casual

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely and efficiently operate forklifts to transport equipment, supplies, and materials within the fire department facilities.
  • Assist in loading and unloading emergency response vehicles and supply trucks.
  • Organise and store equipment and supplies in designated areas, ensuring accurate inventory records.
  • Conduct routine checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition and report any issues for maintenance.
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of essential supplies during emergency situations.
  • Adhere to workplace safety standards to prevent accidents and ensure the safe handling of materials.
  • Perform general warehouse duties as needed, including manual handling and stock movement.
Requirements:
  • Valid forklift certification required.
  • Previous experience operating forklifts in a logistics or emergency services environment preferred.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving heavy lifting and repetitive movements.
  • Strong organisational skills and focus on safety and accuracy.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
This role involves working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with exposure to varying conditions and the physical demands of operating forklifts and handling materials.
