Garbage Truck Driver Operator Needed for local government role in the Illawarra Region - Day shift Role
Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding career in waste management? Look no further! We are currently seeking a Garbage Truck Driver Operator to join our dedicated team, the Illawarra Region Council.

As a Garbage Truck Driver Operator, you will be responsible for providing an efficient residential waste collection, transportation, and disposal service. Your main objectives will be to maintain performance standards, complete daily maintenance checks on the trucks, and promote our waste Management service as courteous and efficient.

To be considered for this role, you must have the following essential qualifications and skills:
  • Class HR Driving Licence
  • Minimum 3-5 years side loader waste collection truck driving experience
  • Experience driving various heavy vehicles requiring an HR Driving Licence
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and numeracy skills
  • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills

Desirable qualifications and knowledge include:
  • Knowledge of the truck's operations and limitations during operation
  • Knowledge of the Kiama Council municipality

In this role, you will be accountable for collecting and transporting residential waste in accordance with performance standards and the Council's work method statements. You will also be responsible for operating the collection truck safely and ensuring its regular maintenance and cleaning.
