Hays are partnering with an organisation based on the North West Coast of Tasmania to find their next Health & Safety Officer. Join a leading organisation who develop natural ingredients for various products onsite, focusing on quality and sustainability. They also have extensive experience in cultivation and are involved in multiple agricultural and environmental projects.
Your new role
As Health & Safety Officer, you will work closely with the QHSE Manager to ensure compliance with ISO standards, including Health and Safety, Environmental Management, and Quality Assurance. Your responsibilities will include preparing, reviewing, and issuing QHSE system documentation, assisting with internal audits, and supporting staff training in QHSEMS procedures.
You will also be involved in investigating and resolving critical deviations in manufacturing and external complaints, as well as HSE incidents and observations. You will administer and manage HSE systems, with a particular emphasis on the importance of creating a safe work environment. You will engage in next generation safety methodology incorporating high reliability organisational safety systems.. Experience with Donesafe or similar electronic WHS systems would be a bonus.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need a university degree in STEM, business, or a related field. It would be excellent if you have an understanding of ISO certified Management Systems, with auditing experience or qualification being desirable.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and Access, are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities are also required. You should be able to work effectively in multifunctional teams and have a strong work ethic, with a desire to learn new skills and undergo further training.
