Your new company
Based in Melbourne’s CBD, this State Government agency is seeking a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to provide temporary relief supporting the focus of developing staff protocols, policies, and procedures. In this 6-month position, you will be performing and showcasing a high level of OHS experience specifically in the development and implementation of new policies.
Your new role
This role will report to and work closely with the Senior Advisor, and sit within the Health, Safety and Wellbeing team supporting and delivering services and programs for the Department and its customer departments and agencies supported under the shared corporate operating model.
Duties required
- Act as the first point of contact for Health, Safety and Wellbeing queries.
- Provide support to the Senior Advisor, Health, Safety and Wellbeing and People and Culture branch with the delivery of health, safety and wellbeing activities and initiatives.
- Prepare high quality reports and other correspondence on a range of OHS and HR issues.
- Record all reported hazards, incidents and injuries and track the completion of any corrective action in the relevant register.
- Track and follow up the completion of the quarterly workplace inspection checklist.
What you'll need to succeed
- The ability to identify complex issues and monitor the impact and risk of a program, project or issue on people or organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to provide succinct and clear expert advice to stakeholders on a range of employment, change management or health and safety matters.
- Establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels and different backgrounds.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to develop and present material on complex matters.
