A well-established firm with a fantastic reputation for producing and working on large-scale, high-end projects across Melbourne and internationally. Renowned for their contemporary design and highly detailed projects, they are seeking an Interior Design Leader both to lead the project team, and provide technical and project coordination from concept to completion.
Your new role
You will collaborate and work closely with the Directors and Design Leaders on the concept design phase, which involves briefing with clients, presentation and supporting drawings. You will also oversee management of project records, and provide solutions and outcomes to ensure on-time delivery of projects. You will be leading and overseeing team members in all aspects of their roles, respectively.
- Scoping, planning and scheduling the project delivery plan and delivery requirements according to the delivery life cycle.
- Coordination of delivery tasks of the project and respective team members, to ensure they are being delivered on time and budget.
- Identify, manage and monitor risks associated with the project delivery and effectively communicate them to the Director.
- Effectively manage project budgeting, costing and resource allocation for project stakeholders and to maintain project profitability.
- Manage the relevant project governance requirements (project delivery meetings, agenda, minutes, leadership reviews and client engagement requirements).
- Responsible for ensuring that deliverables are issued on time
- Maintain effective stakeholder engagement across the project teams
- Work with the Directors to support any sub-consultants and contract delivery.
- Responsible for managing any contractual ‘add-ons’ both internally and externally and in conjunction with Delivery Director
- In the Concept Design phase, coordinate the concept presentations, prepare support drawings and assist the internal design team.
- Attend internal and external design meetings, ensure an agenda is followed and communicate meeting actions and outcomes with team members.
- Ensure design is coordinated with the lighting team and external consultants.
- Proactively manage billing and delivery risks and propose solutions for mitigation.
- Safeguard design integrity through to ultimate delivery of the project.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 6 years of Commercial - Hospitality, Hotel or F+B Interior Design experience preferred
- Adobe Suite (Photoshop/ InDesign), Auto CAD, Rhino and Sketch Up
- Spatial visualisation
- Excellent design communication skills
- Planning & operational understanding
- Technical understanding of design
- Time Management
- Understanding of financial and commercial principals
