Your new role

• Providing legal advice on civil proceedings, legislative interpretation, and compliance.
• Preparing legal briefs, reports, and documentation for senior executives, government authorities, and tribunals.
• Drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and commercial arrangements to protect organisational interests.
• Managing civil litigation proceedings from initiation to resolution.
• Advising on policies and programs to align legal operations with strategic goals.
• Collaborating with stakeholders, including external legal counsel, to address complex legal matters.
• Ensuring compliance with procedural rules, confidentiality, and legislative requirements.
• Responding to requests for data and information from external government departments.

What you'll need to succeed

• Admission to practice as an Australian lawyer with an unrestricted Victorian practising certificate.
• Demonstrated experience in applying legal principles across diverse areas of law.
• Proven ability to provide strategic legal advice in a complex organisational environment.
• Strong skills in drafting reports, briefs, and correspondence with clarity and precision.
• Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Understanding of public sector practices and environments is advantageous.
