The Victorian Pharmacy Authority (VPA) regulates pharmacy businesses, pharmacy departments, and pharmacy depots in Victoria. Its activities include licensing pharmacy owners and registering pharmacy premises. The VPA ensures that all Victorian pharmacies are owned, operated, and controlled only by registered pharmacists in accordance with the Pharmacy Regulation Act 2010 (Act), and that registered premises meet the requirements of the Act and the VPA Standards.
Your new role
As a Licensing and Registration Officer, your primary role will be to assess applications for pharmacy business licences for compliance with relevant legislation and other requirements in accordance with VPA service standards. You will also undertake pharmacy ownership audits and assess applications for premises registration and related approvals.
What you'll need to succeed
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. public policy) and or equivalent level of experience (compliance officer, regulatory standards officer or licensing within regulators)
- Demonstrated experience and ability to understand and correctly interpret relevant legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures, identify and document issues and findings, and make informed recommendations
- To work in a fast-paced team environment dealing with competing priorities
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated, keen to contribute to improving systems and processes
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- A confident and strategic communicator with excellent written skills and strong attention to detail
