Your new role

As the Manager, Strategic Priorities, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Manager, Strategy & Operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Providing Expert Advice & Support: You will offer expert advice and counsel to the Senior Manager, ensuring they are well-briefed on risks and issues. You will support the effective management of the Senior Manager’s priorities by leading or supporting cross-department and cross-division initiatives and planning.

  • Identifying Strategic Opportunities: You will identify strategic opportunities and, as needed or directed by the CEO and executive team, provide support for cross-organisational priorities.

  • Acting as a Proxy: You will act as a proxy on behalf of the Senior Manager when required, representing their interests and ensuring continuity in decision-making and operations.

  • Managing & Communicating Priorities: You will drive the effective management, delivery, and communication of cross-department and cross-division strategic and operational priorities. This includes overseeing the implementation of planning and change initiatives.

  • Overseeing Leadership Team Operations: You will ensure the effective operation of the Senior Leadership Team by organising agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions for leadership meetings.

  • Leading Team Development: You will lead the performance and professional development of team members, fostering a highly productive and collaborative team environment.

  • Engaging Stakeholders: You will engage with internal stakeholders to ensure effective framing of messaging and support the implementation of strategic initiatives.

  • Coordinating Information Sharing: You will lead coordination and information sharing across the Strategy & Operations division, ensuring all relevant parties are informed and aligned.


What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as business administration or policy, along with relevant experience.

  • Experience in managing, supporting, and developing staff to deliver organisational outcomes.

  • The ability to effectively manage ambiguity and identify and deliver key priorities to a high standard.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent relationship management skills, influencing abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively and supportively across a range of business units.

  • A high level of coordination, facilitation, research, analysis, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

  • An understanding of research Governance and ethics.
