They are on the lookout for an experienced Database Developer with experience in using Open Source and Commercial technologies, particularly Linux (Ubuntu), PostgreSQL, Python, HTML/PHP and JavaScript. Experience with Amazon Web Services, Apache, Bootstrap, Leaflet and High charts are advantageous.
About your role
The role will contribute to the development and testing of a climate data management system. The Senior Database Developer will aim to improve team to better manage climate and ocean data of the Pacific National Meteorological and Hydrological Services
- Maintaining and enhancing features requires knowledge and experience in using Open Source and Commercial technologies, particularly Linux (Ubuntu), PostgreSQL, Python, HTML/PHP and JavaScript. Experience with Amazon Web Services, Apache, Bootstrap, Leaflet and High charts are advantageous.
- The developer will be required to provide and maintain technical documentation working with project team members, partner countries, and international collaborators, deploy hardware or install software updates in person or remotely and provide support to administrators and users based in the Pacific that have, in some cases, limited IT knowledge. Other tasks include the provision of IT training to administrators and report on work undertaken to program management.
- In addition to delivering operational tasks, the role will be required to interact with stakeholders, including building partnerships and relationships with implementation partners
Skills and qualifications will include
- Australian citizenship is mandatory
- Experience in using Open Source and Commercial technologies, particularly Linux (Ubuntu), PostgreSQL, Python, HTML/PHP and JavaScript.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services, Apache, Bootstrap, Leaflet and High charts are advantageous.
- Great communication skills with stakeholder management experience
- Technical documentation experience.
