Your new company
Our state government client, based in Perth, is seeking a driven Principal Financial Analyst to join their busy team. Our client is seeking someone to commence as soon as possible through to the end of July 2025. This will be a temporary contract arrangement with the expectation of working full-time, 37.5 hours a week.
Your new role
Oversees the planning, implementation, and management of business intelligence systems, including budget development and resource allocation. Provides expert strategic and commercial advice to executives and teams.
Conducts complex data analysis and financial modelling to support decision-making, enhance budgeting processes, and improve resource efficiency.
Develops, reviews, and maintains policies, plans, practices, and systems to ensure adherence to financial and accounting standards.
Leads the management of programs and projects, including collaboration with external consultants, and recommends actions to improve performance and mitigate risks.
Builds and nurtures effective communication networks, offering guidance and training on financial matters to internal and external stakeholders.
Prepares high-level documents, reports, forecasts, and communication materials, including confidential briefings and responses for key stakeholders and executives.
What you'll need to succeed
Has equivalent experience in finance or accounting, with strong knowledge of financial management, modelling, and reporting.
Possesses advanced analytical abilities and a conceptual mindset to develop innovative solutions for complex challenges.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders and prepare high-quality documentation.
Excels in planning, organisation, and successfully delivering projects within set timeframes.
