We are working with Manningham Council to find a procurement lead to head up their procurement department.

We are working with Manningham City Council to find their Procurement Lead. This role supports the organisational achievement of its strategic and service objectives, including leading the procurement function, with a focus on customer service, compliance and value.

Your new role

Procurement Lead

  • Lead, develop and implement the overarching procurement function to protect and create value

  • Support Council’s achievement of its strategic objectives by ensuring a streamlined procurement function with high levels of compliance.

  • Develop and implement Service Plans relevant strategies for procurement units.

  • Lead projects and activities in an integrated way to support organisational wide performance.

  • Be a trusted advisor to Senior Council management on procurement.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, working with service units and the procurement team to improve procurement outcomes.

  • Develop an environment where team members are able to grow and develop

  • Develop a compliance framework that supports best practice processes in relation to tendering and procurement.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you'll come with extensive procurement lead experience with demonstrated experience and knowledge of procurement and contract management processes with 5 years' relevant experience in conducting end-to-end procurement processes.

You will come with experience of managing and mentoring a team and will bring a well-developed understanding of Victorian Government Purchasing Board policies, procedures, and guidelines.
