Role Title: Records Digitisation Officer
Contract Duration: 2 months, with potential for extension
Daily rate: $35 + Super an hour

A day-rate contracting opportunity with an ASAP start date to join a dynamic Local Government Authority who are dedicated to digitisation projects and records management. This role offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge scanning equipment and contribute to the efficient handling of important records.
Your New Role
Primary Responsibilities:
- Quality Control of Scanned Records: Review scanned records for completeness and accuracy, identify and flag errors, and ensure scanned records meet agreed quality standards.
- Records Management System Integration: Accurately save scanned files into the organisation’s records system (e.g., Technology One ECM) and apply correct metadata and indexing according to Council policies.
- Large Format Scanning: Operate scanning equipment to digitise large format plans and drawings, ensuring proper handling of fragile or oversized documents.
- Ad Hoc Digitisation Tasks: Organise and prepare hardcopy records for scanning, digitise records, and save into ECM as required.
- Communication & Coordination: Liaise with external vendors handling the bulk of the digitisation project to coordinate file transfers and assist in tracking progress and resolving issues.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Technical Skills:
- Experience in scanning and digitising records, including using large-format scanners.
- Familiarity with electronic records management systems (e.g., Technology One ECM).
- Strong computer literacy, particularly with file management and basic troubleshooting of scanning equipment.
Attention to Detail:
- Ability to perform quality checks on scanned records with a focus on accuracy.
- Understanding of metadata and indexing requirements.
Records Management Knowledge:
- Understanding of records retention and disposal schedules (preferably NSW GA39).
- Experience working in a records management environment is an advantage.
Organisational Skills:
- Ability to manage and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced project setting.
- Proactive approach to handling files and documents efficiently.
Soft Skills:
- Good communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and vendors.
- Teamwork and flexibility to handle varied tasks as they arise.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate or Diploma in Records/Information Management or equivalent experience.
- Experience in local government or similar settings is desirable.
