Your new role
You will be responsible for processing clients' instructions for voluntary and mandatory corporate actions globally and supporting change through continual improvement of operational processes. This role also entails interaction with front office to resolve queries and achieve better service levels. You will be actively involved in the daily business by supporting timely and efficient settlement of all security transactions across markets that represent new asset inflows and outflows into the bank. Handling client asset transfers and liaising with the Front Office to facilitate client asset transfers.
- Gathering, verifying and disseminating information on Corporate Actions to Front Office and clients
- Collating client instructions for voluntary or elective events and instructing custodians in a timely manner to protect client entitlements
- Monitoring upcoming events until all details are finalised
- Reconciling client entitlements on internal systems against Custodian advices
- Liaising with custodians/brokers whenever necessary to resolve any discrepancies on entitlements received
- Crediting client entitlements in a prompt manner
- Liaise with transfer counterparties to negotiate and agree on transfer details and timeline
- Follow-up transfer cases to ensure smooth street settlement of the transfer
- Maintain and ensure that all trade documentation is properly filed and archived
- Liaise with custodians/counterparties/front office to resolve disputes and discrepancies.
- Internal asset transfers on clients’ portfolios and dealing with advisers, registries and custodians.
What you'll need to succeed
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline e.g. Commerce, Law, Accounting or similar
• Financial Markets operations, Wealth Management, Corporate Actions or Asset transfer experience
• Wealth Management or financial markets exposure
• Strong communication skills to effectively deal with stakeholders
• Self-motivated, quick learner and enthusiastic
What you'll get in return
There are two roles available, one on the asset transfer area and one in corporate actions. An excellent opportunity for an initial 12 month contract at a global bank with the potential for extensions or a permanent role. The team is newly formulated and has a good culture, working with great leaders. You will start in the office full-time and can move to hybrid once integrated into the role.
