You will be a part of a specialist firm focused on debt recovery, commercial litigation, and insolvency law. Established in 2019, it is part of an ASX-Listed receivables management company. The firm primarily acts for local councils, large corporations, and financial institutions, recovering unpaid debts such as council rates, financial defaults, and commercial claims. With a national footprint and integration with a major debt collection agency, the firm offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of law, technology, and finance.

Your new role

As a Senior Associate, you will manage complex commercial litigation, debt recovery, and insolvency matters, particularly for local councils and financial institutions. You will handle unpaid council rates, corporate debt disputes, and provide strategic litigation advice. Additionally, you will mentor junior solicitors and paralegals, collaborate with the in-house finance and legal teams of the ASX Listed company and support business development and client relationship management.

What you'll need to succeed

• 4+ years PQE and a valid legal practising certificate in NSW.
• Strong experience in commercial litigation, debt recovery, and/or insolvency law
• Ability to manage files independently, handling both high-volume claims and complex litigation
• Leadership qualities with a strong mentoring mindset
• Client management skills – ability to liaise directly with local government entities, financial institutions, and corporate clients
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment where efficiency and commercial thinking are key.
