Your new company
Our state government client, based in Perth, is seeking a driven Senior Financial Accountant to join their busy team. Our client is seeking someone to commence as soon as possible through to the end of July 2025. This will be a temporary contract arrangement with the expectation of working full-time, 37.5 hours a week.
Your new role
Prepare and review monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
Manage the general ledger, including reconciliations and journal entries.
Oversee tax reporting and compliance, including GST, FBT, and corporate income tax returns.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.
Liaise with external auditors, tax specialists, and other stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and systems enhancement.
What you'll need to succeed
Possession of relevant tertiary qualification and membership in an Australian Professional Accounting body.
Experience in financial accounting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Excel and ERP systems.
Willing to comply with a police clearance
