Your new role
Reporting to the General Counsel, this role will see you working directly with internal business stakeholders to provide clear, concise and practical legal advice across a broad range of areas.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- reviewing and drafting various commercial contracts such as research-based contracts, consultancy agreements, and technology related contracts (eg software development agreements and data sharing agreements);
- reviewing non-standard contracts in accordance with relevant policies to identify and communicate contractual, legal and business risks;
- advising the organisation on various intellectual property law issues;
- advising on competition law matters and supporting marketing campaign reviews, including promotional terms, to ensure legal compliance;
- assisting with the development of template agreements and other precedent documents;
- advising on privacy law matters including undertaking reviews of personal data breach notifications in accordance with the Privacy Act (Cth);
- assisting in the development and delivery of internal legal training to the business.
What you'll need to succeed
You must hold an Australian Practising Certificate and have a minimum of 8-10+ years' PAE in commercial law including experience in IP matters, with excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills. Additional experience with technology related contracts and data privacy will be highly regarded. You will also be a collaborative team player with strong stakeholder management abilities, and a customer-centric and results-driven approach.
