Senior Project Engineer
Location: Melbourne, VictoriaAbout the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with various leaders and principals to ensure the effective end-to-end development, prioritisation, and delivery of programs. You will be responsible for developing asset renewal and optimisation business cases for capital projects, ensuring they meet business requirements and budgets with a long-term view.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Project Development Lead, Asset Management Principals, and interface leads to ensure effective program development and delivery.
- Develop asset renewal and optimisation business cases for capital projects, including BNIs and PBCs, budget and schedule development, and options analysis.
- Create functional requirements for business case phases and schedule the implementation of the OT Asset renewals program.
- Consult and collaborate with Operations, IT, Low Risk Capital Governance, Major Projects, and Planning teams.
- Provide technical support for Renewal & Major Projects, including involvement in CHAZOP/HAZOPs, design reviews, and acceptance testing.
- Support OT asset data creation and updates as required.
- Work within the Management of Change process and systems.
- Assist Operations teams with technical questions and problem/issue resolutions.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge and experience with SCADA and PLC control systems, including development, coding, and testing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Siemens PCS7, S7 300, S7 400, Rockwell Control Logix, PLC5, MicroLogix, GeFanuc 90/70, 90/30, Rx3i PLCs, and systems.
- Familiarity with Building Access, Control and Identification (BACID), CCTV, VMS, Telemetry, and Radio systems.
- Understanding of operating system lifecycles, virtualized environments, Ethernet, and Fieldbus networks.
- Experience with Asset Management systems such as Maximo, and project management skills including business case development, estimating, and forecasting.
- Proven experience in the design, development, and maintenance of complex electrical, automation, and instrumentation systems.
- Ability to write specifications, control philosophies, or narratives.
- Knowledge of general asset management processes and risk assessment techniques related to large-scale infrastructure management, including CHAZOP and RCM.
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated initiative and an ability to prioritise and perform complex professional/technical work with limited supervision.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight for complex works, projects, and programs.
