SQL DBA

SQL DBA required for an initial hourly rate contract to June 30 2025, with likely extensions.

You will be working for a mid-sized Federal Government Department.

Your new role

As the SQL DBA you will be part of a small DBA team that combines expertise in both traditional on-premises database management and cloud-based solutions like Azure, ensuring a holistic approach to database administration that meets the departments evolving needs. This role is located in Canberra with WFM options.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrable experience of at least 3-5 years in supporting Microsoft SQL Server and SQL High Availability technologies.
  • Experience with (Always-On) Availability Groups, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS
  • Microsoft SQL Server administration expertise to include SQL clustering and replication.
  • Well versed and experienced in monitoring, detection and isolation of SQL Server related performance issues, whether hardware or software.
  • Solid acquaintance with windows server, security delegation, SPNs, storage components (desired).
  • Previous database administration responsibilities in a medium-large organisation.
  • Experience working with Azure (desirable).
  • You must be an Australian citizen and be willing to go through a NV1 level clearance
