Your new role

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer, you will be tasked with creating designs for high-voltage substations and renewable energy systems, including cable rating, insulation coordination, earthing, and lighting. You will oversee technical specifications for both low and high voltage electrical equipment, perform engineering design studies, and support projects within our substation and renewable energy programs.

What you'll need to succeed

  • In-depth knowledge of substation design and engineering principles, including lighting, lightning protection, earthing, high-voltage cable engineering, solar design, and transmission.
  • Proficiency in technical management, leading processes, procedures, and templates, and estimating engineering projects.
  • Experience in developing and reviewing protection and control schemes for various protections and major substation equipment.
  • A university degree in Engineering with a focus on Energy.
  • Preferred qualifications include registration with Engineers Australia and RPEQ registration.
  • Experience in project and design leadership/management, as well as on-site project experience.
  • A current driver’s licence.
