Your new role

The System Engineer is responsible for designing and documenting solution proposals, with reference to a defined system functional baseline, to satisfy customer requirements and project/bid cost targets. The position of System Engineer provides technical oversight to other teams within the project/bid, ensuring that the designed solution is implemented as per the design and in accordance to the project/bid schedule and cost constraints.

• Designing, developing and documenting solutions to meet customer requirements, whilst ensuring the integrity of the System functional baseline and architecture
• Defining Systems solutions that deliver the best trade-off between requirements, cost, schedule and risk, which meet our customer’s needs
• Preparing and conducting specification reviews with our customers
• Preparing products required for internal specification reviews
• Maintaining traceability between customer requirements and the design
• Support Systems Engineering Manager (SEM) and Work Package Manager (WPM) through:

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree in Engineering or related
• Experience of systems engineering processes and functional baseline (FBL) management [Specification writing, Requirements analysis, Traceability, System level design / architecture / Interface, Requirements management]
• Experience in any part of the life cycle of software development
• Aptitude to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary integrated team environment with colleagues based in remote sites or other countries.

Desirable:

• Experience in Modelling Tools e.g. Capella, Enterprise Architect
• Experience in System Engineering tools eg. DOORs, Jira
