My client requires a technical supervisor, based in Perth airport, to manage a team of up to 12 electricians.
Your new role
As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for being in attendance during business hours to co-ordinate and manage the system associated with the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the Baggage Handling System (BHS) and other associated equipment based at the site.
Your responsibilities will include:
Day to day support of all operational activities in a proactive manner to ensure the business delivers outcomes required by our client.
Complete accurate and timely administration and record keeping in support of BHS activities, including rostering and maintenance scheduling.
Assist with maintaining and managing the contract budgets. Completing induction and providing support of the team in carrying out their duties (O&M Support Manager to lead)
Complete internal and external reports in a timely manner.
Collate information for keeping the team up to date on OHS and employment changes.
Assist with effective, efficient and cost-focussed management of a rostered team environment.
Organise and assist with regular training and development to support the team in carrying out their duties.
Measurement and analysis of shift, process and system performance against agreed KPI’s and Service Levels, reporting exceptions.
Ensure that the baggage handling system is operational, and issues are rectified safely, quickly and efficiently.
Ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of equipment within the businesses' contractual obligations.
Support and assist technicians to keep the system operational.
What you'll need to succeed
You will require the following to be considered for this role:
Sound technical understanding of automated control systems in a Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) or high-speed processing environment.
High level of computer literacy
Ability to communicate technical concepts in plain language.
Experience leading, motivating and delegating tasks to others.
Trade / Tertiary qualifications along with relevant experience.
Previous experience in a team leader / leadership role.
Unrestricted Electrical Licence.
Experience in mechanical drives, including gearboxes, conveyor belting.
Experience in pneumatics and Hydraulics including Solenoid Valves, cylinders and flow regulators.
Desirable:
WH&S qualifications.
Management qualification.
SCADA
Sound technical understanding of automated control systems.
PLC Programming / Fault Finding.
