Your new role

As a Unix Engineer, you will play a crucial role in a major migration project, supporting application teams in migrating both RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Solaris workloads. Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining Unix-based systems.

• Supporting developers with application installation and config

• Managing and optimizing RHEL and Solaris environments.

• Performing system upgrades, patches, and configurations.

• Automating tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, or Python.

• Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues.

• Collaborating with application teams to ensure seamless migration and integration.

• Ensuring system security and compliance with industry standards.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Proven experience as a Unix Engineer or similar role.

• Linux/Unix OS build and automation

• Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems, particularly RHEL and Solaris.

• Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python).

• Experience with system migration projects and methodologies.

• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM), Redhat OCP administration for VM's and Containers.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
