Immediate start for a Waste Education Officer working with a Council in Melbourne.

Your new role

The Waste Education Officer will help move council to a circular economy, particularly through the introduction of the four-bin system which:
  • Reduces material use and recovering materials and giving them a second life.
  • Reduces the carbon impact of landfills and methane generation.
  • Limits the impacts to Melbourne’s West from landfilling activities, with its health and traffic impact on residents.

What you'll need to succeed

As well as having qualifications in waste management, sustainability, environmental management or related disciplines, you’ll have:
  • Extensive knowledge and capacity to provide specialist advice on ‘waste management’ and the transition to the ‘circular economy’.
  • Relevant skills and experience in the ‘end to end’ development, delivery and evaluation of waste education and
